Volunteer Opportunities

Over the past year, the Scripps Howard Center has been partnering with Children Inc, the Kentucky Enquirer, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Legacy, and Vision 2015 to produce nkyHELPS.org. nkyHELPS.org is a one-stop shop for volunteerism and donations in Northern Kentucky. We are connecting those who want to volunteer their time, money, and items with nonprofits that need them. It is our goal to make Northern Kentucky the easiest place in the country to volunteer and donate. Whether you are looking for a one time opportunity or an on-going volunteer opportunity or you need a volunteer spot for one or fifty-one, then www.nkyhelps.org is the place to go!

    Contemporary Arts Center

For more than 65 years, the Contemporary Arts Center has been a forum for progressive art and ideas serving the city of Cincinnati and the region. In Spring 2003 the CAC moved to a new state-of-the-art building. In the new building's design, the admissions desk is located far from the entrance. The CAC has become increasingly aware of negative responses to the new building entrance. We wish to rectify this customer service issue by providing a "greeters desk" near the entrance.

We are looking for volunteers to welcome all guests of the CAC. They will hand visitors informational brochures and direct them to the admissions desk. Greeters will be able to provide basic information about what exhibitions are located on which floor of the CAC. They will also be able to direct visitors to the gift shop, restrooms, and elevators.

Greeters will be expected to wear neat and clean casual attire that is appropriate in an art museum. Greeters are asked to give a 3 to 4 hour block of time, at least once a week adding up to 30 hours a quarter or 48 a semester.

    The CAC is open:
    Monday 10am-9pm
    Tuesday Closed
    Wednesday-Friday 10am to 6pm
    Saturday-Sunday 11am-6pm

    Greeter's Benefits
In return for their volunteer services, greeters will receive a Student Membership to the CAC for this season which includes:

    • One student membership card, with unlimited free admission
    • Two free guest passes for regular admission
    • May bring one guest (per card) to exhibition members-only
    • Invitations to members-only previews and events
    • 10% discount on all CAC Store purchases
    • Subscription to CenterBeat newspaper
    • Access to Online Members' Lounge
    • Free admission to Contemporary Fridays
    • Members' Appreciation Event

    Matthew 25 Ministries

Volunteer at our 130,000 square foot warehouse on Kenwood Road in Blue Ash. A morning's work will usually produce enough processed materials to provide thousands of acts of assistance to those in desperate need in the US and around the world. Because of the selfless generosity of our hundreds of volunteers, less than 1% of Matthew 25's total cash and in-kind donations go toward administration. The Center accepts and processes an enormous variety of essential products including:

New & gently used clothing, new shoes, personal care products, soap & cleaning products, food supplies, school supplies, fabric & sewing supplies, medical supplies, sports equipment, medical & educational furniture and furnishings.

If so the Strengthening Partnership and Recourses For Kids (S.P.A.R.K.) Program needs you.
