They are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this highly-competitive Program. In addition to typical office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, tours and complete an intern service project. Interns may serve a term in the Fall, Spring or Summer. Health Promotion/Education Paid Summer Internship Opportunity Place: Two positions based on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (Accomack & Northampton Counties) Time: May-August, 2007 (14 weeks) Salary: $480/week Requirements: Spanish/English proficiency, health promotion/education experience. Preferred: Spanish/English fluency, strong educational background in health promotion, experience/knowledge of Hispanic farm worker population, personal car. Work description: Work description: Health promotion work targeting Spanish-speaking farmworkers on the migrant labor camps. Work will be environmental health promotion (including sanitation, lead, and pesticide safety) targeting farmworkers in their homes, training and supervising lay health advisors, collecting information, program evaluation.
