Scripps Howard Foundation Sponsored Internships

The Scripps Howard Foundation provides generous funding to support many non-profit internships in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati region. To learn about The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars “Presidential Academic Seminar Series”, please read this form. The Campaign 2008 Presidential Academic Seminar Series consists of four seminars: Inside Washington 2008, The DNC Seminar, The RNC Seminar, and the Presidential Inauguration. Student nomination deadline is June 3, 2008.

White House Internship Program

The White House Internship Program offers an opportunity to explore public service. They are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this highly-competitive Program. In addition to typical office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, tours and complete an intern service project. Interns may serve a term in the Fall, Spring or Summer. Every candidate must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled in a college or university and be at least 18 years old.

Strong applications should exhibit:

  • sound academic credentials,
  • a history of community involvement and leadership,
  • solid verbal/written communication skills, and
  • a demonstrated interest in public service.

  • March 6, 2007 for SUMMER 2007 (May 22-August 2007)
  • June 26, 2007 for FALL 2007 (September 4-December 14, 2007)

Health Promotion/Education Paid Summer Internship Opportunity

Place: Two positions based on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (Accomack & Northampton Counties)

Time: May-August, 2007 (14 weeks)

Salary: $480/week

Requirements: Spanish/English proficiency, health promotion/education experience.

Preferred: Spanish/English fluency, strong educational background in health promotion, experience/knowledge of Hispanic farm worker population, personal car.

Work description: Work description: Health promotion work targeting Spanish-speaking farmworkers on the migrant labor camps. Work will be environmental health promotion (including sanitation, lead, and pesticide safety) targeting farmworkers in their homes, training and supervising lay health advisors, collecting information, program evaluation.

The Women’s Connection Summer Internship Program

TWC is seeking interns to assist with office work, program planning and youth program assistance. A great opportunity for students! College credit may be available. Interns are asked to donate 30-40 hours per week for approximately ten weeks. If interested, please contact Melissa Breck for a more detailed job description.
