Poll Worker Recruitment Campaign

With the help of a national grant that the Scripps Howard Center has received for the third time, the recruitment of NKU students to be poll workers still continues. Over the past three campaigns, students have been given information about working the polls and a chance to sign up in the county that they are registered to vote in. The Scripps Howard Center has offered benefits in the past to students signing up, including free T-shirts, baby-sitting compensation for Election Day, and more.

The campaign has been a success! Last winter, about 150 students signed up to help work the November election in their local county. This spring, 36 more students have volunteered to work the polls for the May primary elections. Many more students have been given registration cards to help them register to vote. The recruitment campaign has yielded large numbers of students who care about democracy and who are willing to help their community.

Do you want to be a Poll Worker and have a change to earn $100 on average for just one day while giving back to the community? Contact Aaron Caskey at (859) 572-1448, or send an email to caskeya1@nku.edu .
