HONORS STUDENTS: Do community research as a fellow
Northern Kentucky University’s Honors Program and Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement are pleased to offer the Scripps Howard Honors Fellowship (SHHF). The Scripps Howard Honors Fellowships are directly tied to NKU Honors Program’s Capstone project and are intended to encourage research that meets a regional need.NKU Honors Program’s Capstone
The curricular centerpiece of the NKU Honors Program, the independent Capstone project is the culminating piece of the Honors minor.
Regional Needs and Public Engagement
Students should use Northern Kentucky Vision 2015’s six strategic directions in identifying community needs. For more information about Vision 2015 visit www.vision2015.org. Note: A Vision 2105 connection is encouraged but not mandatory.
This competition is to encourage and support students to undertake intensive community-connected research and/or creative public engagement projects as part of a Honors Program six-hour Capstone experience.
The research and/or project must occur over the duration two consecutive semesters between the Fall 2011 and Fall 2012 (e.g., Fall 2011/Spring 2012; Spring 2012/Fall 2012). Only students working within the Honors curriculum are eligible to apply for these fellowships. Students must be in good standing with the NKU Honors Program.
